Virtual Private Gateway
A Virtual Private Gateway (VPG) creates an isolated private network for your IoT devices on the Soracom platform. Devices connected through a VPG receive private IP addresses and can communicate securely with your backend infrastructure via peering, VPN, or dedicated circuits.
What it does
- Private IP addressing — Assign fixed private IPs to devices for stable, predictable addressing
- Network isolation — Separate device traffic from the public internet into a dedicated network segment
- Peering, VPN, and dedicated connections — Connect your VPG to cloud VPCs (Canal), on-premises networks (Door), or physical circuits (Direct)
- Device-to-device LAN — Enable direct communication between devices within the same VPG using Gate
